RFP Questions for SCMUG Panel Discussion
- Are there are series of steps that can assist an organization in making the scope of the RFP clear and concise?
- What are some steps to take to ensure an organization that the potential consultant will bring the desired value to the project?
- What are the red flags that tell an organization to steer clear of certain implementers?
- How do we get the contractors input on business process? As it is important to receive this early on in order to get Maximo correctly configured.
- The RFP is what gets the projects in trouble all the time. Not enough detail is spent on it and they are usually to vague causing costly change orders.
- What's the best way to handle training? Classroom training? Train-the-trainer? Over-the-Shoulder Support?
- Make sure you know when put out a solicitation.
- What are the Pro's and Con's of having a RFP/RFQ for the planning portion of a major Maximo implementation or upgrade? How much Maximo expertise does a potential vendor need to have?
- What sort of language needs to be incorporated into the RFP/RFQ to help ensure Maximo configurations and customizations don't make upgrades harder than they need to be?
- What's the best way to structure a Fix-Fee and/or Performance/Deliverable based RFQ/RFP?
- As it relates to creating a RFP; is it best to separate the Maximo upgrade from a mobile system implementation or consider them in a single RFP?
